Qualifications And Experience
Assistant Professor (Grade-I)
- Essential Qualification :
- Ph.D. in a relevant area with first class or equivalent grades at the preceding degree and with consistently good academic record.
- Experience :
- Three years of relevant teaching/ research/industrial experience as on date of the selection committee meeting. Candidates with less than 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience may be considered for a contractual position of Assistant Professor Grade II with appropriate pay based on the number of years of post-doctoral experience.
Associate Professor
- Essential Qualification :
- Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grades at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
- Experience :
- A minimum of six years’ teaching/industry/ research experience of which 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade-I), Senior Scientific Officer/ Senior Design Engineer in a research organization or industry.
Professor
- Essential Qualification :
- Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grades at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
- Experience :
- A minimum of 10 years post-Ph.D teaching/ research/ professional experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc, IISERs, IIMs or at an equivalent level in any other Indian/Foreign Universities/Institutions of comparable level.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai was established in the state of Chhattisgarh by the Ministry of Education in the year 2016.
IIT Bhilai is presently housed in its permanent campus at Kutelabhata, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh.
IIT Bhilai offers Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Science (MSc) and Doctoral programs (PhD) in various departments. The Institute made its modest start with introduction of BTech program in August 2016. IIT Bhilai currently offers six undergraduate programs in the disciplines of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI), Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering (MSME) and Mechatronics Engineering (MT).
