NIT Jalandhar JRF Recruitment 2025, 10th April

It is a privilege to lead Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jalandhar, one of the national accolades and an outstanding institution of higher learning. NIT Jalandhar is ranked 58th in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF-2024), Band-Excellent in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA), and was recently ranked in the 301-350 range in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2024.

These accomplishments are the result of responsive leadership, dedication of the faculty and staff, and considerable efforts by students. More importantly, even during the unprecedented situation of the pandemic, the Institute continued to generate and disseminate knowledge. While cherishing the journey and milestones achieved so far, we must look forward and prepare ourselves for future challenges to propel this institution to even greater heights. In the coming years, our primary focus will be on implementing the New Education Policy (NEP) in its true spirit, fostering inter-disciplinary research, deepening industry-academia collaboration, exploring and developing new avenues of knowledge, and resource generation through knowledge transfer.

The students spend a significant portion of their lives on campus. They join the Institute to make their dreams a reality. In a world where change is the only constant, the Institute provides its students a solid foundation for their careers. The Institute gives them the opportunity to integrate their minds, imaginations, and emotions in order to become capable of resolving public issues. The students have twofold responsibilities: one is to transform themselves, and the other is to address the complex problems faced by the society. It is my earnest appeal to students to make the best use of the time they spend at the Institute for their holistic transformation.

The students must keep their curiosity alive and experiment new things. Our alumni are also passionately concerned about the progress of the Institute. I seek their ongoing support in the form of reverse mentoring by serving their Alma Mater with zeal and exuberance.Last but not least, as this Institute is named after Dr B R Ambedkar, let us recall his slogan, ‘educate, agitate, and organise’.

Let us educate society so that it is capable of generating innumerable ideas for human welfare. Let these ideas of thesis and anti-thesis agitate or collide with one another, and eventually organise into a new synthesis, what Higher Education Institute stands for. I am hopeful and confident that with everyone’s support and commitment, we will achieve new milestones with ever- rising benchmarks, help our youth in making their dreams a reality, and propel the Institute to new heights.
