Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna, Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the research project titled “Design and Development of Audio Sensor and Data Acquisition Systems.”

This project is a part of the consortium initiative “ML-Enabled RISC-V based i-LoRa SOC for Forest Event Monitoring,”funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the Chips to Start-up (C2S) Programme, Government of India, New Delhi. The project aims to contribute to the development of indigenous semiconductor and IoT-based solutions for environmental surveillance and conservation. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research, gain hands-on experience in embedded systems, and contribute to a nationally significant project. The fellowship is temporary and performance-based, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and funding availability. Duration : The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position is for an initial two (02) years. After this period, based on performance, the candidate may be upgraded to Senior Research Fellow (SRF). The SRF position will continue until the project is completed. Further extensions will depend on project requirements and funding availability.

NIT Patna Recruitment 2025 : Educational Qualifications

Essential Qualifications –

Educational Qualification (Option 1) : B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks. Must have a valid GATE score.
Educational Qualification (Option 2) : M.E./M.Tech. in one of the following specializations with a minimum of 60% marks. Electronics and Communication Engineering, VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration), Embedded Systems, Microelectronics, Electronic Systems. Must be GATE qualified.
General Requirements : Candidates should have a strong background in electronics, circuit design, and embedded systems. Knowledge of hardware design, programming, and research methodologies will be an advantage. Good communication and problem-solving skills are desirable. Candidates meeting the above criteria are encouraged to apply. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.

Desirable Requirements –

(i) Operating System Proficiency : Knowledge of Windows, Linux, CentOS, and RHEL operating systems.

(ii) EDA Tools Expertise : Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, such as Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics.

(iii) Circuit Design & HDL Coding : Understanding of Analog, RF, and Mixed-mode Circuit Design. Proficiency in Hardware Description Languages (HDL) coding for digital and mixed-signal designs.

NIT Patna Recruitment 2025 : Salary Structure

Consolidated Fellowship/Salary

The fellowship amount is ₹ 37,000 + 16% HRA per month for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and ₹ 42,000 + 16% HRA per month for Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
